I am a psychotherapist providing online counseling for those in Washington state. As a mixed Japanese and LGBTQIA2S+ affirming practitioner, my practice is rooted in principles of anti-oppression and collective liberation. I have worked in the fields of social work and psychology for over seven years. Over the course of my career I have worked in a variety of settings with clients of various age and cultural backgrounds. I earned a masters degree in clinical Social Work from the University of Washington, and a BA in Psychology from the University of Chicago. I am licensed by the Washington State Department of Health as an Associate Independent Clinical Social Worker. I work with adult individuals (18+) and specialize in working with those of mixed racial/ethnic heritage, people of color, and womxn/femme/non-binary folx. My work typically integrates the following: -emotions-focused processing -mindfulness and meditation -somatic (body-based) exercises and practices -decolonizing frameworks, e.g. naming oppressive systems & factors and identifying paths to liberated and grounded healing -trauma-informed/trauma-focused interventions to process past experiences and build resilience -activities and practices to activate creativity -holistic wellness- attention to health and movement (as desired) -spiritual and ancestral practices, as appropriate -cognitive-behavioral therapy
