Nichelle Alderson, FNTP, LICSW
Description of Counselor/Practice
Life Happens! Sometimes it helps to have compassionate and non-judgmental support as you work through life issues and transitions.
I specialize in working with adult people of color on stress and blood sugar related issues including: depression, anxiety, ADHD, adrenal fatigue, weight imbalances, and chronic pain.
As a licensed psychotherapist and certified nutritional therapist, I offer a client centered and integrative holistic therapeutic approach that aims to bring to light, the associations between diet, stress, family history, support systems & resources, life experiences, environment, and issues related to current and/or historical oppression, and how YOUR body, mind, and spirit have been reacting. I believe in encouraging and empowering my clients towards achieving the results they seek. I help clients identify and utilize their strengths and to identify and release unhealthy practices or defense mechanisms.
I will not turn a blind eye to your experiences as a woman, man, person of color; transgendered; queer or homosexual; physically, mentally, or sexually abused; fatherless; veteran; ex-offender; victim and/or perpetrator of domestic violence, or children of offenders, addicts, divorced or mentally ill parents.
All are welcome and equally cared for, however I specialize in the needs and services of People of Color, Helping Professionals, Artists, and Entrepreneurs. I also provide individual, group and distance clinical supervision to new and seasoned social workers and master's level therapists who are seeking licensure.
Many services are available in the privacy and convenience of your own home or office by phone or secure video messaging.
