John Guy, MA, LMHC

Description of Counselor/Practice

So you're looking for an African-American couples therapist :-) Welcome! I specialize in helping artists, seekers and creative professionals of color to put their best foot forward in their personal and professional lives, relationships, and the broader community. I use mindfulness-based approaches to examine our interactions and your stories, and then work with you to change the patterns which cause your troubles. During our sessions we will practice techniques that, when used regularly, can help eliminate unnecessary suffering. I recognize intersectionality and the many ways that nationality, religion, gender, race, class and sexual orientation may add layers of challenge to life. I work with individuals, couples, community groups and organizations.
