Description of Counselor/Practice

Have major parts of you been overshadowed by the stress of just trying to survive and get by? Have the expectations and demands from others to be a certain way left no room for self-discovery, acceptance and expansion? Painful past experiences, childhood trauma, and oppressive environments have taught many of us to silence our needs, prioritize others, not trust ourselves, and bury our true feelings. I know that even in light of the inner drive to reclaim authenticity, experiences from our past can linger and get in the way. Having a safe space to tell your story, and receive guidance and support is essential. My therapeutic approach is anchored in evidence-based practices, ensuring that the people with whom I work receive the highest quality care and make tangible progress towards their goals. I hold a license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and I'm also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional at level 2 (CCTP-II) and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). I approach trauma therapy with a body based lens and often integrate art and music to provide deep opportunities for healing. Some of the techniques and theories I use in my practice include Coherence Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Experiencing (SE), Expressive Art, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), or “Parts Work”. With me, therapy is a partnership and you’re not alone on your journey of healing, growth and change. I am right there along with you doing my part to heal, grow and live life fully present. I became a therapist because of my own path of healing. I invite you to reach out today for your free consultation.
