I am a Filipina/Asian American 2nd generation and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a certification in Sex Therapy. During my master's program, I had an emphasis in Multicultural Counseling. I am trained in the Developmental Model and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I utilize my therapeutic knowledge and attachment theory into my work to support my clients in their journey. I believe that we are influenced by our culture and upbringing. The way we go about life, we do not realize how much of an impact our families and background impact our view of the world. Sometimes, those influences may not be how we want to act on but cannot help due to its familiarity, comfort, and culture. Life is already difficult enough and trying to shift our behaviors and mindsets in situations is an additional challenge. I also recognized that traditional western therapies cannot be applied to all cultures. I help my clients create a narrative that best fit their path into becoming the people they want to be and it is fulfilling for them without sacrificing the significant values in their life.
