Abigail Martin, PsyD

Description of Counselor/Practice

I am a licensed doctor of clinical psychology and believe that therapy provides a unique space for self-discovery and healing. I have clinical expertise working with adults experiencing substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, and anxiety. I have additional experience treating trauma and psychosis. I have additional training and expertise in multicultural psychology and working with individuals with international backgrounds and marginalized identities. I take a multicultural and trauma-informed approach to therapy and integrate evidence-based treatments, including relational psychodynamic therapy, CBT, MI, and ACT to explore and treat patterns of relationships, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is also essential for therapy. I, therefore, aim to create an open, non-judgemental space grounded in trust and empathy. I also use a multicultural lens for psychological assessments. I conduct evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults to clarify diagnoses and inform the treatment of various mental health diagnoses, including ADHD, specific learning disorders, and co-occurring disorders.
