Description of Counselor/Practice

As a bilingual and bicultural Spanish speaking therapist I have a passion to work with Latinx community. I believe it is very important to understand a client's background, and belief system from a cultural and social perspective. I have experience supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, life transitions and parenting challenges. I work with adults, children and their parents/caregivers. People need a space where they can feel listened and safe to tell stories of pain and trauma. But also, a place where someone believes in them and can be an ally in their path to find their authentic self. I use a holistic approach to support people in their healing journey with a social justice framework. I understand how systems of oppression shape people’s life experiences. I use community-based experience and evidence-based practices derived from cognitive behavioral therapy, parent coaching, somatic and trauma informed therapy. I use mindfulness and self- compassion to support clients to connect back to their inner wisdom to reclaim their true power and agency. Living in the present moment with compassion can be key in the healing process. I work as a team with clients to create a therapy space where we can decolonize social constructs to be themselves and breath freely.
