Description of Counselor/Practice

Hello, my name is Gary Singh, I'm a counseling intern, and I understand how difficult it can be to take the next step towards personal wellness. I strive to offer a supportive, collaborative space for clients navigating life’s challenges. I am especially drawn to working with individuals who are sitting with life’s hardest questions, including those that do not have readily available answers, and the distress that can arise in that process. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and approach therapy by honoring the innate strengths each person carries. I work to create a space that allows the multiplicity of our identity to be present and explored with warmth, openness, and curiosity. I also draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), existential philosophies, and psychodynamic therapy. My approach to therapy is grounded in a multicultural perspective, recognizing that multiple aspects of our identity shape who we are. As a person of color and first-generation immigrant I recognize. As a person of color and first-generation immigrant I recognize the challenges that may arise in navigating and honoring our cultural identities.
