My name is Dr. Jennifer Ambriz. I was born in California and moved to eastern Washington state as a child. I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest near the Columbia River (which connects to the Salish Sea). I am of mixed ancestry, third-generation Mexican-American Indigenous, French, and Spaniard lineage.
Career/Professional Background:
I am an Associate Psychologist and have provided counseling services during the past nineteen years. I have worked in a variety of settings including three years in a medical clinic setting, eight years in a Indigenous/Native American behavioral health setting, and seven years in a college/university student counseling center. Additionally, I have six years professional experience conducting psychological evaluations for Autism spectrum, ADHD/ADD, Learning Disorders, Washington state disability, etc. Furthermore, I have six years’ experience providing Equine Assisted Therapy services (www.EAGALA.org).
Lifestyle:
I strongly value embodying a balance with my Mental, Emotional, Spiritual, and Physical well-being . Some activities I enjoy include Yoga, Hiking, Swimming, Cooking, Reading, Language learning, Spiritually Anchored Gatherings, Educational/Culturally enriching activities, and Dancing (I am learning Hula!: ). I am a very health conscious individual and mostly eat Organic Vegetarian (Sometimes will eat wild salmon, which is a culturally significant food from the Pacific Northwest).
