Peter Yeung, MA, LMHCA

Description of Counselor/Practice

Hi, I'm Peter. Therapy takes a lot of courage. I’m so glad you’re interested in making the step. It’s my goal to create a safe-enough space that we can dive into the depth of your story and help you understand more deeply how you relate to yourself and others. I work with a variety of needs, but I’m particularly focused on helping people who find themselves struggling to make connections, low self-esteem, working through their identity, life-transitions, depression, and anxiety. If you want to understand yourself on a deeper level and are struggling with any of these needs or more, I’d love to come along side and help you. My role is not to be an expert in the relationship but an understanding companion. I work with clients of all ages/identities, but particularly love supporting BIPOC and AAPI clients. I borrow from many theoretical modalities: relational psychodynamic, existential, attachment theories, and person-centered. All of those help me listen to you better. As a person, I’m oriented by my passion for connection, play, and laughter. I reside and work on Duwamish land and identify as Chinese-American. I’m a child of immigrants, but grew up in Colorado. I believe the greatest expertise I can offer is a shared humanity. I'm not interested in fixing you, just bring your human self, and we'll start there.
