Being human is a messy endeavor. If you feel out-of-place or uneasy within your own body, family, or community, I welcome you. If you are suffering as a result of circumstances beyond your control, if you experience intense emotions, find yourself avoiding important events or decisions, or repeating behaviors knowing full well they will not further your goals, you do not have to go it alone. The full human experience sometimes requires more than one mind to understand it, more than one heart to bear it, more than one imagination to reinvent it. * * * I offer an emotional space that relies on both structure and spontaneity. My approach draws on evidence-based therapy modalities, with the understanding that the 'evidence' and the evaluators of it (all of us!) are inherently biased. My style is casual and inquisitive, and I am quick to laugh. I work with adults, couples, and groups. * * * Change involves loss, even as it includes gain. Connection to practical support can mean the difference between continuing down familiar yet ineffective paths and tolerating the discomfort needed to reach greater ease, acceptance, functioning, and joy. Therapy is not magic, yet the results produced can feel magical. * * * Now Accepting New Members * * * Weekly Women's Support Group has openings for new members. The group is open topic and the vibe is supportive and thoughtful. The fee is $40 and we meet on Fridays at 3pm. Sliding scale available.
