Alyssa Koelemay, LSWAIC

Description of Counselor/Practice

You are not broken. Together, we will rediscover the person God made you to be. We will get to know your inner world--the inner critic, the angry part, the part that distracts from or numbs pain, and the part of you that feels ashamed. Loving others better starts with loving ourselves, so I invite clients to practice showing compassion to even the parts of themselves they dislike the most. I use this psychodynamic parts work approach combined with cognitive-behavior interventions. We will practice skills to use in everyday life to help you regulate your nervous system, process emotions, communicate with others, and change the way you communicate with yourself.
