Description of Counselor/Practice

I work with adult individuals and couples of all backgrounds using various evidence-based techniques and best practices. Over the years I have enjoyed working with clients with diverse presenting issues, levels of functioning, race, culture, and sexual orientation. I believe there are reasons why we do things the way we do. It is likely past experiences, often traumatic, that are behind problematic patterns of feeling, behaviors, and thoughts. I approach my clients’ stories with the lens of curiosity about their history of their own and the systems around them. Family dynamic, culture, generational trauma, and systemic oppression have strong impact on our psyche. I believe acknowledging and processing these factors must be a part of therapy. Please contact me if you have questions or you want to make a first appointment. 日本語でも対応しています。お気軽にお問い合わせください。
