Description of Counselor/Practice
My practice is grounded in intersectional feminist and anti-oppression values. A few identities I hold include: queer, non-binary and femme. I also identify as mixed race, with white and Japanese ancestry.
My style in session is engaged, empathetic, affirming and client-centered. I want you to feel comfortable bringing all parts of yourself to our sessions. I welcome all clients and specialize in working with LGBTQIAA+ folks and people of color. My clients are teens ages 14+ and adults.
I utilize various therapeutic modalities when working with clients. These might include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) informed skills, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), somatic body/based practices and mindfulness.
More empowerment, choice, peace, safety, joy and connection are possible. I consider it an honor to walk alongside clients as they find ways to access more of their power and move closer to their goals. Please take a look at what I have to offer and contact me if you’d like to learn more.
