Priya Raghav, MSW, LICSW, CMHS

Description of Counselor/Practice

It is my passion to work with children to help them heal through emotional and social challenges and to support their caregivers in becoming their best advocates. I specialize in working with children between the ages of 3 and 10 years, using play therapy. Play is the primary language by which children process their life experiences, and latest brain research establishes that play therapy is the approach best suited for emotional healing in children. Alongside children, I collaborate with caregivers as primary partners in their child's therapeutic care. I interweave parenting-consults with individual child therapy sessions to maximize the child's opportunity for overall success. My ultimate goal is for children to graduate from therapy feeling happy, confident and ready to thrive! I bring qualities of non-judgment, compassion and cultural-sensitivity to children and families I work with. Social justice is an important value for me personally and professionally. Being an immigrant myself, and having experience in working with many immigrant and refugee families, I have a passion for supporting families who identify as immigrants and refugees. I speak two East Indian languages: Hindi and Tamil. Please feel free to contact me for a complimentary consultation. I would love to talk with you to see if I might be the right fit for your need. I wish you the very best in your/your child's healing journey.
