Description of Counselor/Practice

I work with individuals and couples who would like to dive deeper into understanding themselves and their relationships. It can be difficult to confront our fears and recognize our vulnerabilities. Why do we react anxiously, fearfully, or defensively in situations? Why do seemingly small tasks or annoyances provoke such strong reactions in us? Many times, emotions and behaviors which have served to protect us and ensure our survival in the past are no longer serving us in the present. These automatic responses are difficult to alter if we do not understand their origins and actively work to create new ways of orientating to others. My personal and educational experiences as a queer Chinese-American woman have shaped my values as a trauma-informed, anti-oppression, and social justice-oriented clinician. It is my goal to provide you with a space where you feel safe to access difficult feelings, and know that you are not alone in your journey towards peace and self-understanding. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to see if we might be a good fit. Let's see if our connection feels natural and take it from there. I look forward to hearing from you.
