Hi there. My name is Shuo 硕 (pronounced SHOO-oh). I use she/her pronouns. I am a 1.5-gen immigrant of Chinese diaspora, cis woman, dragon, libra, and art-maker who has spent much of adulthood crawling back to what I call childhood wonders where curiosity, presence, and playfulness guide my ways of being. As a narrative therapist, I hold precious to these childhood wonders while providing culturally responsive mental health care from a storytelling, relational, and liberatory lens. In our work together, it is my hope that you may deconstruct what no longer serves you and build on movements toward liberation in ways that are most meaningful to you. I believe counseling can be generative when we allow ourselves this freedom to slow down and take detours we otherwise might not permit ourselves to travel. As such, you might experience me as a gentle stream guiding us through uncharted territories within your stories, so that you can begin to trust in the skills and wisdom held already inside you and your communities.
