Esther Lobato, LICSW
Description of Counselor/Practice
I identify as multi ethnic (half Latinx and half white), queer, gender queer, and fat/plus size. I specialize in working with mixed/multiethnic/multiracial communities, POC communities, LGBTQ+ communities, and people exploring body positivity. I work with people around their body shame, sex and sexuality, gender/gender affirmation, relationship concerns, trauma, mindfulness, giref and loss, depression, and anxiety. My approach to treatment is based on critical race theory, intersectionality, health at every size, Queer theory, intergenerational trauma, and empowerment theory. My focus in psychotherapy involves exploring your identities and how they are formed, your self-talk and how you form your self-narration, the marginalization you face, and how life transitions affect your wellbeing. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-based, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to tailor an approach to your needs and learning style.
