As a Native/Indigenous therapist, I work with an understanding that therapy doesn't look the same as the books. I choose to work from a holistic approach, helping treat the whole individual. I make sure to work through a trauma-informed lens, keeping in mind that we all experience trauma differently. Through my private practice work, I aim to work with BIPOC folks like myself and provide a safe, non-judgmental space to help normalize seeking and receiving mental health support in our communities.
My years of experience comes from working through a variety of settings such as residential treatment facilities, community and tribal mental health, and the department of human services. From these experiences comes an understanding that cultural competence is important.
I truly believe in building the therapeutic alliance and utilizing the relationship to help guide the healing. I work from an understanding that we all live differently, come from different backgrounds and have our own experiences. I am in no way, the expert of you.
